When creating a site for the first time in the GXportal installation, you have to configure the backend URL and the SMTP data for sending emails from GXportal.
Once the backend URL has been configured, go to Control Panel – Site Administrator and press the New button to create a new site. In the dialog box that is displayed, configure the following:
-
Domain: Domain name of the site you’re setting up. When users log in the GXportal backend, they will have to enter the domain name of the site in the Site field.
-
Repository: The user repository to be used must be selected. By default, every site has its own user repository. In addition, repositories can be shared between the portals of the same installation.
-
Production portal URL: It’s the absolute address to access the set of programs installed in the frontend directory. It’s the web address that will be used to access the site, such as http://www.domain.com.
-
SMTP: The data configured here will be used to send emails from GXportal, for instance: user password reminder.
-
SMTP Server: Name or IP address of the email server.
-
SMTP User: User account with which GXportal will connect to the SMTP server to send emails.
-
Required SMTP Authorization: Select this field if the SMTP server requires authentication.
-

Upon confirmation, a dialog box will be displayed to configure the image paths.
